Mid-Atlantic Urban Agriculture Summit 2021 - Call for Abstracts

On behalf of the Mid-Atlantic Urban Agriculture Summit (MUAS) planning committee, we would like to invite you to submit an abstract for our inaugural regional summit to be held virtually from October 12-14, 2021. The main theme of the summit is: ‘Creating Healthy Communities through Urban Agriculture’, and abstracts that address urban agriculture related to the three sub-themes: 1) Urban Agriculture and Food Security; 2) Innovations in Urban Agriculture: Business, Technology and Policy; 3) Urban Community Gardening, will be given priority. The oral program will be in concurrent sessions with each presentation lasting a total of 20 minutes (15 for the presentation and 5 for Q&A).

The abstract will consist of a brief (maximum 250 words) statement summarizing the content of your work.

Important Deadlines:

  • Abstract Submissions: September 15, 2021

  • Notification of Decision on Abstract: September 22, 2021

  • Submission of the final Oral Abstract and PowerPoint® slides: October 1, 2021

Notes:

  • The body of the abstract must be preceded by a concise title, author name(s) and affiliation(s), and contact details including phone number and email address. The presenting author should be identified by an asterisk.

  • If submissions for the oral session exceed time allocated, some oral abstracts may be assigned to the poster session. Oral submissions may also be grouped into panels.

  • A maximum of two abstracts will be accepted from the same presenting author.

  • If your abstract is accepted, you may be invited to submit a full manuscript of your work for peer-review and possible publication in a conference proceeding to be released after the Summit.
