Family and Consumer Sciences Associate Extension Agent Roanoke County
Naida Young has been in Roanoke, Virginia for 27 years and completed her master’s degree in Applied Nutrition and Physical Activity from Virginia Tech in 2023. She has a passion for physical activity as she was a competitive roller derby player for five years. As the newest addition to the Roanoke and Salem office, she hopes to incorporate movement, foods, and social interactions into her programming. She lives in Roanoke with her husband and two kitty cats and enjoys the outdoors – hiking, biking, and camping to name a few. She is hoping to improve the lifestyles of the people in her area by offering the Diabetes Prevention Program.
