• Meet the mandatory USDA/FSA financial and production management borrower training requirements.
• Find resources to help boost farm profitability and income for farm families and local communities.
• Offer hands-on training to farmers and assist them in developing valuable skills in financial management and crop production.

Find out what you need to know for tax planning, record-keeping and marketing as well as strategies for reducing risk and connecting to available funding through state and federal agencies—all designed to help you grow and sustain a successful farm business.

The Agribusiness Production and Financial Management course builds on strong partnerships with USDA agencies, local banks and industry collaborators to develop an innovative, culturally sensitive, level appropriate, and practical research-based curriculum. Instructors include multidisciplinary staff from Virginia State University’s Colleges of Agriculture and Business, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Farm Credit officials and producers who have had success with our programs. Completion of the course may offer CE credit. Contact Michael Carter (mcarter@vsu.edu) for eligibility requirements or additional information.
