Designed especially for small, limited-resource and veteran berry farmers or those who are interested in business and production related specifically to berry growing, this six-part Agribusiness Production & Financial Management course will allow you to:
• Find resources to help boost farm profitability and income.
• Offer hands-on training to assist you in developing valuable skills in financial management, crop production and marketing specifically for berry production.
Find out what you need to know for tax planning, record-keeping and business development as well as strategies for reducing risk and connecting to available funding through state and federal agencies—all to help you grow and sustain a successful berry business.
The course builds on strong partnerships with USDA agencies, local banks and industry collaborators to develop an innovative, culturally sensitive, level appropriate, and practical research-based curriculum. Instructors include multidisciplinary staff from Virginia State University’s Colleges of Agriculture and Business, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Farm Credit officials and producers who have had success with our programs.
