Introduction to USDA's Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)

OCTOBER 30, 2018
5:30PM - 8PM

Southern Virginia Food Hub
100 Danville Street • South Hill, VA

Are you preparing to meet the new Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Produce Safety rule standards? Have you heard about Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs)?  Maybe you’ve heard that they can get buyers to notice your products and improve your access to the marketplace—but you need more information to know if it can work for you.

Learn about requirements for USDA GAP certification, plan and prepare for a GAP audit, and get important information about what you can do to implement food-safety measures on your farm.

For information, call the Small Farm Outreach Program Office at (804) 524-3292 or contact Small Farm Resource Center coordinator Michael Carter, Jr. (micarter@vsu.edu / 804-691-0490).

THIS WORKSHOP IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

If you are a person with a disability and desire any assistive devices, services or other accommodations to participate in this activity, please contact the Small Farm Outreach Program office at smallfarm@vsu.edu or call (804) 524-3292 / (800) 828-1120 during business hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss accommodations five days prior to the event.
