Integrated pest management (IPM) is socially acceptable, environmentally responsible and economically practical crop protection. IPM is an ecosystem-based strategy that focuses on long-term prevention of pests or their damage through a combination of techniques such as biological control, habitat manipulation, modification of cultural practices, and use of resistant varieties.
VSU Small Farm Outreach Program agents will host this program featuring a presentation by Susan Hill of Hill Farm in Louisa, VA on these eco-friendly pest management practices.
