Timber sales can be complex, but forest landowners can make the most of this unique opportunity to generate revenue and achieve ownership goals.
Dr. Jerry Bettis, forestry specialist with VSU Cooperative Extension, will discuss important considerations and tips for how to sell your timber, including how to find and select a professional consulting forester to provide you with a wide array of services . These fee-based services can include timber appraisal, harvest planning, timber sale coordination, financial planning for tax purposes and boundary marking.
Further information will be provided to help landowners understand how they can market their timber effectively to be sure that they can get the highest return for the sale of their timber.
