VSU Nutrient Management Specialist Tammy Holler will discuss practices to help you increase your chances for success with spring crop production, including:
Nutrient management in spring crop production
The importance of soil sampling and understanding the results. A demonstration of the the proper method of taking and preparing a soil sample for shipment will be conducted if time permits.
Water management (irrigation) and using tensiometers to avoid under- or over-watering
Benefits of cover crops to soil erosion and fertility, and NRCS programs available to improve soil and water quality.
