VDACS State Aparist Keith Tignor will provide classroom instruction on the following topics:

  • Colony Collapse Disorder

  • VDACS Pollinator Protection Plan

  • Grants available for Beekeepers

  • Beekeeper Equipment

  • Beehive Components, Construction and Maintenance

The classroom instruction will be followed by a demonstration of how to open, inspect and maintain a beehive

Attendees must bring their own bee suit and wear long sleeves, pants and closed-toe shoes in order to participate in the hands-on demonstration with live hives.
