Weed Control With Goats

Join us on Slade Family Farm in Surry, Virginia to learn how to use goats to control weeds on your farm. Topics will include breed considerations, stationary and mobile fencing options, mob grazing, rotational grazing, solar powered fence energizers, predator control, supplementary feeding with hay, housing, watering systems and more. Dennis Williams of Bees Knees Farm in King William Virginia will demonstrate two mobile fence systems that he uses on his farm. Tracy Porter will discuss how to make your own solar powered fence charger to keep your goats in and predators out. And Clif Slade will share with you his first time experience with using goats to keep weeds down in his sweet potato fields.
