Potato Harvesting Demonstration

Thursday, June 8, 2023 · 9 am–noon

Keysville, Virginia

Producer Brandon Ross has planted roughly five acres of white potatoes. There are equal amounts three different varieties: Yukon Gold, Russet and Kennebec. Small Farm Outreach Program staff will assist Mr. Ross with the harvesting of his potato crop by using the SFOP mechanical potato harvester. The main issue we expect to see will be the huge quantity of rocks in his field. Workshop participants will be able to observe how well the mechanical potato harvester works under such conditions.

Space is limited to 12 participants
