Southwest Virginia Sheep & Goat Farmer Gathering

Bring your family and join other small ruminant farmers for an opportunity to learn about the danger of parasites in your flocks. Topics will include:

  • Managing Parasites

  • FAMACHA Certification Basics

  • Nutritional Needs

  • Q & A Session about upcoming Livestock Antibiotic changes

  • Marketing Strategies & Updates

You will also have the opportunity to visit information booths and speak with professionals from: Russell County Co-Op, Virginia Sheep Producers Association, American Kiko Goat Association and VSU Small Farm Outreach Program.

Note: You are welcome to bring a refrigerated fecal sample of 8 to 10 fecal pellets from one sheep or goat at your farm for a fecal analysis.
