Soil and Water Conservation Service Information Session

The James River Soil and Water Conservation District is a subdivision of the Department of Conservation and Recreation, providing local solutions to support agricultural conservation in Prince George and Chesterfield counties. This session will cover the history of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, The Virginia Agricultural Cost Share Programs (VACS), and practices you can use to benefit soil health and protect water quality—these practices in cover crops, Nutrient Management, Split Applications, Rotational Grazing, and more. Qualifying practices are reimbursed at a flat rate per acre or a percentage of the project cost; others are eligible for a tax credit.
