Precision Agriculture for Farmers

Growers will learn about the different technologies available for small farmers who would like to participate in precision practices,the importance of maintaining proper nutrient levels for optimum crop production, how to properly take soil fertility samples and zone sampling. You will learn about soil productivity and why all soils do not have the same capability to grow a particular crop. Learn why we manage zone application of nitrogen, and variable rate applications and phosphorus differently, and how we can get maximum potential while still protecting the environment and the rivers and streams in Virginia.
