VSU Randolph Farm, 4415 River Rd, Petersburg, Virginia

Getting started with the Farm Service Agency (FSA) session will inform urban growers on how to access their FSA County Office, the steps to obtain a farm number, and why it’s needed. We will discuss the role of the Urban Agriculture County Committee (COC) and how and why you should get involved with the COC. There will be an overview of the Virginia Urban Agriculture Initiative. There will be an opportunity to start the process to obtain a Farm Number onsite. There will also be time for urban producers to voice their opinions, and ideas so that the FSA can better serve its urban producers.
