Beginning Farmer SMART Goal and One Page Business Plan With Friends

Tuesday, October 29, 2024 • 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

VSU Randolph Farm Pavilion, 4415 River Rd, Petersburg, VA

The artist Pablo Picasso said, “Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act.”  If the thought of writing your business plan makes you nervous, then this is the class for you!  Come with your ideas and plan to write out your S.M.A.R.T. goal and one page business plan in a fun afternoon.  You will have your classmates be a “sounding board,” and support system as you flesh out your personal S.M.A.R.T. goal and one page business plan!  We will use an easy to understand and proven template that will build your confidence to take action on your plan!

VSU SFOP's New and Beginning Farmer and  Rancher team, Ben Dukes, Derrick Gooden, and Dr. Nartea will be your lead facilitators providing encouraging guidance to get you started with the goal of you writing your ideas on paper.

Participants in this class will be paired with another classmate for on-going networking and support during and after the class ends, that’s where the “friends” idea comes from!

Light refreshments will be provided for your enjoyment!  Learning is fun with friends!

For more information, contact Ben Dukes at 804-731-7916 or bdukes@vsu.edu.
