Spring Sheep & Goat Gathering Field Day
Friday, April 25, 2025 • 12:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Abingdon, VA
We’ve all heard that good fences make good neighbors! Join other farmers to learn how to keep sheep and goats on your property and where you want them to be, while being in control of what, when, where and how much they eat.
Topics will include hands-on demonstrations about:
• Sheep and Goat Fencing for Improved Animal Control, Managed Grazing and Reduced Predation
• Gates, Braces and Trails/Walkways
• Low-stress sheep and goat handling
• Rotational grazing, soil health and weed management
• Shelter – shade and water
Local fencing contractors will be joining us to provide a demonstration and Q & A session. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with industry experts and learn invaluable techniques to apply on your farm!
