ETTRICK, Va.— The Virginia State University College of Agriculture announced the cancellation of its anticipated Fall AgFest Producer Day set for Oct. 4 and the Community Day scheduled for Oct. 5. The decision follows significant damage to several Randolph Farm attractions, including the sunflower field, sorghum maze and pumpkin patch, caused by Tropical Storm Ophelia over the past weekend.

Despite this setback, VSU is ensuring that community members will have an opportunity for seasonal festivities. The university will host its final VSU Trojan Farmers Market of the year on Oct. 19 from noon to 2 p.m. The event, located at the VSU Douglas Wilder Parking Lot #28 on Matthews-Jefferson Drive (College Avenue), welcomes the VSU community and residents from surrounding areas.

Attendees can look forward to giveaways, featuring items like pumpkins and mums.

For additional details about the Farmers Market, contact Dr. Nartea at tnartea@vsu.edu. Students interested in volunteering are encouraged to reach out to Kilah Oliver at koli1323@students.vsu.edu.

VSU expresses its gratitude for the community's unwavering support and understanding during these challenging times and looks forward to the upcoming Farmers Market on the 19th.
