Planning for Growing Mushrooms on Logs

Wednesday, January 12, 2022 • 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Zoom Event

This introductory workshop will cover what you need to do now to be ready to innoculate logs with mushroom spawn later in the spring. Topics will include species of trees to select for logs; when and how to cut the trees or limbs for mushroom logs; why you must cut live trees before the spring log spawning; and the special equipment and supplies you will need to purchase now before spawning your mushrooms. We will also discuss marketing strategies. Workshop attendees will be able to apply this knowledge from this workshop to our spring workshop on How to Grow Mushrooms on Logs.
